I was born and raised in Massachusetts. After graduating high school, I joined the U.S. Army, where I served as a pharmacy specialist. I was stationed in Texas and Colorado and was deployed to the Persian Gulf for Operation Desert Storm. After discharge from active service, I remained in the Army reserve while attending pharmacy school. I graduated from Northeastern University in 1996, with a degree in pharmacy. Since then, I have practiced as a pharmacist in Massachusetts, Arizona and Tennessee.
While living in Arizona, I developed a desire to help people in a more hands-on and natural way. I enrolled in the Oriental Medicine program at the Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine & Acupuncture. I obtained a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine degree in 2014. I am nationally board certified as a diplomate in Oriental medicine from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). I became a licensed acupuncturist in Arizona and opened a private practice.
In the fall of 2016, I closed my practice and moved to Jackson, Tennessee. Since then, I have been working as a pharmacist but due to time constraints, was not able to practice acupuncture. Thankfully, my situation has changed, and I am now ready to see patients again. I am excited to be able to use my education and experience in both western and eastern medicine to help people achieve better health.
I have many hobbies and interests. I like movies and TV, eating good food, traveling, music and theater. I love animals and have a pet dog, Raina. I enjoy singing and I am a member of the Jackson Choral Society. I also enjoy attending performances of the Jackson Symphony and theater performances at the NED and the Orpheum in Memphis. Fitness and health are important to me, so I make time to work out and practice yoga.
